The Projects

Downer designs, builds and sustains assets, infrastructure and facilities and we are the leading provider of integrated services in New Zealand. Check out our secure pipeline of work below.

City Rail Link

Downer, as part of a joint venture called Link Alliance, are delivering three of Auckland’s City Rail Link projects, the largest transport infrastructure project ever undertaken in New Zealand.

The City Rail Link is a 3.45 kilometre twin-tunnel underground rail link, up to 42 metres below the city centre. This is transforming the downtown Britomart Transport Centre into a two-way through-station, that better connects the Auckland rail network.

Current project, expected completion 2024.

America's Cup

The 36th America's Cup will take place in Auckland in 2021, bringing people from all over the world.

To host the Cup, and showcase Auckland as a world-class city, a base will be created that will provide platforms for up to seven syndicate bases and as many as 80 yacht moorings.

An attractive destination for Aucklanders lasting well beyond a single sporting event.

Downtown Auckland City Rebuild

Auckland’s city centre is the beating heart of the region's economy, and is growing at a rapid pace. Aucklanders will see a huge transformation taking place with the creation of pedestrian-friendly streets, a modern and efficient public transport network, more public open space and better connections to the waterfront.

This work will reconfigure Auckland’s city centre and waterfront into a more people-centric destination that reflects our unique place in the world.

Auckland Airport

Auckland Airport connects Auckland to New Zealand and New Zealand to the world.

In response to strong passenger and airline growth the transformation of Auckland airport has plans to invest around $2 billion in aeronautical infrastructure by 2022. This will include terminal developments, creation of additional contact gates, arrival experience upgrades, transport investments and more.

Turitea Wind Farm

An hour and a half north of Wellington is the vibrant and green Manawatu region. Here the construction of the first of 60 Vestas consented wind turbines will contribute to New Zealand’s growing renewable energy development. Commencing August 2019 with an overall cost estimated to be $56 million.

The 119MW Turitea Wind Farm will generate on average 470 GWh per annum, enough electricity to power 210,000 cars.
